Happy Women’s History Month! 🎉
According to the National Women’s History Alliance (NWHA), the theme for the 2026 Women’s History Month is:
“Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future.”
This theme honors the women who are reimagining and rebuilding systems to ensure long-term sustainability across environmental, economic, educational, and societal spaces. It recognizes the powerful leadership of women in shaping a future rooted in equity, justice, and opportunity for all.
📚 A Brief History:
- The first Women’s History Day took place on February 28, 1909, in New York City.
- Women’s History Day became Women’s History Week in 1978.
- After being petitioned by the National Women’s History Project, Congress passed Pub. L. 100-9 in 1987, which designated the month of March as Women’s History Month.
