Ryan Crosswell on the DOJ’s New Case Against James Comey

Ryan Crosswell, Senior Counsel at Singleton Schreiber, was featured by CNN in a segment on Anderson Cooper 360, aired on October 26, 2026.

Crosswell joined Anderson Cooper to discuss a newly unsealed charging document against James Comey. Drawing on his experience as a former federal prosecutor at the Department of Justice, he explained how judges may weigh the case’s history and how the department’s credibility with the courts has changed.

The segment focused on a two-page filing known as an information, which is not voted on by a grand jury, concerning events from about 10 years ago and raising statute of limitations questions. Crosswell noted that the case follows an earlier indictment that was thrown out, and he expects vindictive and selective prosecution motions to be filed again.
