Overview
Keely Kleven is a member of our Motion, Writs & Appeals practice group and has experience litigating corporate, construction, and agricultural cases.
Ms. Kleven grew up in North Dakota, where she developed a passion for rodeo and the outdoors. She majored in political science and competed with the rodeo team at Black Hills State University. She went on to earn her law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law, where she graduated with distinction.
While in law school, Ms. Kleven received various awards, including Order of the Barristers, "Best Brief" in the Thomas Stinson Allen Moot Court Competition, the Schmid Honors Scholarship awarded for high academic achievement, and the Grether Moot Court Competition Reserve Champion. She competed on the National Trial and Moot Court Teams, served as a teaching assistant for the trial advocacy class, and
prosecuted criminal cases as a student attorney in Nebraska’s criminal clinic.
Ms. Kleven interned for a Rapid City law firm during law school, and joined the firm full- time after completing a clerkship with the South Dakota Supreme Court. In her spare time, she enjoys ranching with her family, hiking with her rescue dog Kane, and traveling internationally.
