Danielle Ward Mason, Partner at Singleton Schreiber, was featured by WSB-TV Channel 2 Atlanta on October 15, 2025, in a televised report titled, "Georgia Women Afraid Their Hair Straightener Is Causing Harm Now Have a New Chance at Justice."

The segment reported that Georgia women who believe long-term use of chemical hair straighteners has harmed their health may now have a renewed opportunity for justice following a recent Georgia Supreme Court ruling. The court’s decision allows plaintiff Kiara Burroughs to move forward with her lawsuit against Strength of Nature and L’Oréal, alleging that chemical relaxers contributed to her uterine fibroids. The ruling clarified that Georgia’s 10-year product liability statute of repose applies on a per-unit basis, meaning claims may proceed for products sold within 10 years of a lawsuit being filed.

During the broadcast, Ms. Mason discussed the significance of the ruling and its broader implications for women affected by chemical hair-care products, emphasizing the need for corporate responsibility.

“It really starts with the accountability that need to be taken by the manufacturers of these products who make decisions that could make these products safer. They don't.”

WSB-TV Atlanta added that the manufacturers have a 10-day window to request reconsideration before the case continues in Georgia courts.
