The use of firefighting foam, mandated by the U.S. government, has long been an established practice at airports and aviation facilities nationwide. Research on the impacts of chemicals (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, referred to as PFAS) used in firefighting foam has raised concerns about widespread contamination and the health impacts associated with its use, however, and has resulted in new governmental regulations and litigation. These developments have significant fiscal and operational implications for airports, airlines, and aviation facilities.

UPDATE (August 15, 2023 9:50 PM PST) -- The County of Maui Hawaii issued a press release confirming the first two identifications of the wildfire victims, Lahaina residents Robert Dyckman and Buddy Jantoc. Also in the release, the county confirmed that there have been 114 human remains recovered that are still awaiting identification.

One of the most common questions personal injury victims have after a car accident, slip and fall, dog bite, or other personal injury is “Can My Case be Settled Without a Lawsuit”.  The second question is: “When Should I file a Lawsuit?”  If you’ve had a serious accident, your life has probably changed in ways you never expected, and you may be left struggling to recover physically and emotionally. Coping with insurance claims and mounting costs can make the ordeal even more challenging.

Several fires have kicked up in the last few days, one of which is the Gavilan Fire which broke out Saturday, July 15, near Gavilan Hills, east of Perris in Riverside County California.

Gavilan Fire attorneys are paying close attention to this fire, and how best to serve the local community. Firefighting crews were sent to Gavilan Road and Idaleona Road around 3:30 pm to begin dealing with the fire.

Car accidents are terrifying ordeals. Not only is your vehicle damaged, but you're often left injured, confused, and distressed. All you want is a quick resolution so you can focus on getting back to a healthy, happy life. Unfortunately, insurance companies often cause even more distress.

While insurance providers promise to have your back, or be your neighbor, their primary goal after an accident is to pay as little as possible on your claim. It is important to understand common insurance company tactics so you can protect yourself legally and financially after an accident or insurance claim denial. Here are five things insurance companies don't want you to know:

The Marshall Fire that destroyed hundreds of homes December 2021 within Boulder County was recently reported of consisting of two fires with separate origins.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office gave an update on CBS News regarding the cause of the most destructive fire in Colorado history.  In the update the first fire’s origin was stated to having started on a property at 5325 Eldorado Springs Drive six days prior to the Marshall Fire, composed of tree branches on December 24th. The fire was deemed as no longer actively burning by firefighters with Mountain View Fire at that time, due to the covering of the fire with dirt and other measures taken to extinguish the fire.

Surviving a motorcycle crash can be harrowing. Your body is broken and battered, your bike is damaged, and your sense of freedom and adventure is suddenly gone. The last thing you want to do is deal with insurance companies and the legal system.

However, pursuing legal action after a serious accident caused by another's negligence is often necessary to pay for mounting medical bills and other losses. While the legal process can complicate an already difficult time, with the right guidance it can make all the difference in your ability to heal without the added stress of financial hardship.

An auto accident that results in injuries can be an extremely traumatic experience. Your life suddenly changes in ways you never expected. The severity of car accident injuries and the long road to recovery ahead can feel terrifying and overwhelming.

However, it is critical to remain as calm as possible and take proper steps to protect your health, your rights, and your ability to recover damages that you may be owed. The actions you take in the aftermath of a serious auto accident can have major consequences for your wellbeing and any future insurance or potential legal claims.

As recently reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, the Martinez Refining Company was added to the long list of polluters who have failed to take their compliance responsibilities seriously under the Clean Air Act.

Both the FBI and EPA are now investigating the release of 20 tons of toxic dust. It occurred during Thanksgiving, 2022, when there was a “malfunction” at this  oil refinery in Martinez, CA. Both Contra Costa County and the FBI confirmed the investigation.

Pacific Gas & Electric agreed to a $50 million settlement with Shasta County District Attorneys as the result of the massive utility starting the Zogg Fire in 2020.
