Ebony H. Griffin-Guerrier

Counsel

Overview

Ebony H. Griffin-Guerrier serves as Counsel in the Denver office of Singleton Schreiber and is a member of our Environmental Litigation, Civil Rights, Toxic Tort, Mass Tort, and Personal Injury practice groups. Ms. Guerrier has extensive environmental law experience and will continue her passionate work at Singleton Schreiber on environmental toxic tort litigation. Specifically, she will work on issues of environmental racism and injustice, the impacts of climate change on disadvantaged communities, and other cases fighting for and protecting the rights of all people.

Originally from a low-income community in North Alabama, Ms. Guerrier moved to Philadelphia in 2017 to join the Public Interest Law Center with a focus on environmental justice. Throughout her life, Ms. Guerrier has been dedicated to advocating for individuals of all backgrounds and communities across the country, including those disproportionately affected by pollution, climate change, and other inequities. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, she worked as Senior Legislative Counsel at Earthjustice, where she focused on the cumulative impacts of toxic pollution, especially in low-income communities that bear the brunt of toxins discharged into the air they drink and the water they breathe.

As a law student, she served as a summer law clerk for the White House Council on Environmental Quality and held a five-month clerkship with the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance at the Environmental Protection Agency. She also spent several years working as an environmental and safety regulatory associate in Washington, D.C.

In addition to serving on the Boards of Directors of the Environmental Law Institute and the Philadelphia Environmental Justice Advisory Commission, Ms. Guerrier holds leadership positions in several community-based organizations, including the National Bar Association, Urban Creators, and the Neighborhood Gardens Trust, among others. A graduate of Howard University School of Law in 2012, Ms. Guerrier also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a minor in Chemistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009. Ms. Guerrier was also educated abroad, in both Spain and Peru, and is fluent in Spanish. Ms. Guerrier is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
