Singleton Schreiber Files Lawsuit Against Motel 6 and Wyndham Entities Alleging Sex Trafficking of Child in Southern California

SAN DIEGO, CA – Singleton Schreiber has filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of a Jane Doe survivor who was trafficked for sex beginning at age twelve at multiple hotel and motel properties across Southern California. Jane Doe was 12 years old when her trafficking began and 16 when it ended, forced to rotate between five properties in Claremont, San Dimas, Pomona, and West Covina during those years.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, names G6 Hospitality entities, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc., and several property-level operators. All defendants are alleged to have knowingly benefited from and facilitated Jane Doe's trafficking in violation of the federal Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA). The five subject properties are two Motel 6 locations in San Dimas and Pomona, a Days Inn by Wyndham in West Covina, the Hotel Claremont and Tennis Club in Claremont, and the Five Star Inn in West Covina.

The defendants allegedly ignored clear and repeated signs of sex trafficking of a child, allowed traffickers to operate openly on their properties, and profited from room rentals tied to the exploitation. At the San Dimas Motel 6, staff witnessed Jane Doe in visible distress and later allowed her trafficker to return with her. At the Pomona Motel 6, housekeeping observed evidence of physical abuse following beatings. The suit further alleges that the companies failed to implement basic anti-trafficking measures or adequately train staff, despite longstanding industry knowledge and widely available resources.

"Our client was just 12 years old when this started, a child who was beaten, drugged, and sold for sex at property after property while hotel staff watched and did nothing,” said Katie Llamas, Counsel at Singleton Schreiber. “This is not a one-location failure. The same pattern runs across every defendant in this case: direct knowledge, the authority to act, and a deliberate choice not to. No one did anything to protect this child. We intend to hold every entity accountable."

Singleton Schreiber has filed multiple sex trafficking cases against Motel 6 and Wyndham-branded properties nationwide.

Jane Doe seeks compensatory and punitive damages for the severe and lasting physical, psychological, and financial harm she has suffered.
