Overview
Blake Milner is Senior Counsel at Singleton Schreiber, in the Birmingham office. Mr. Milner is a member of the firm’s Personal Injury and Whistleblower & False Claims Act practices, where he represents individuals and families harmed by negligence and fraud, and advocates for whistleblowers exposing misconduct.
Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Mr. Milner served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Alabama, where he led the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF). In that role, he managed complex federal prosecutions involving organized crime, money laundering, firearms, kidnapping, tax fraud, and large-scale drug conspiracies. He successfully tried jury trials on complex drug trafficking, wire fraud, money laundering, and tax fraud cases to verdict. He also supervised three other OCDETF attorneys handling high-stakes federal litigation.
Prior to his work as a federal prosecutor, Mr. Milner served as a Deputy District Attorney in Jefferson County, Alabama, where he prosecuted jury trials and bench trials involving violent crime, capital murder, robbery, rape, and domestic violence. His trial experience and leadership in criminal prosecutions uniquely position him to take on powerful corporations, institutions, and individuals in the civil litigation arena.
Prior to joining Singleton Schreiber, Mr. Milner also has significant experience in white collar criminal defense, investigations, and whistleblower litigation. His work has included representing clients in False Claims Act cases and complex qui tam litigation.
In addition to his courtroom practice, Mr. Milner is a dedicated trial advocacy coach. Since 2017, he has served as a coach for the Cumberland School of Law National Trial Team, helping law students prepare for national trial competitions by teaching trial skills, case theory, and courtroom strategy. He also serves as an adjunct professor teaching both Jury Selection, Basic Skills in Trial Advocacy, and Alabama Practice and Procedure.
Mr. Milner earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where he was a decorated trial advocate and winner of numerous national trial competitions and awards.
